The Family History Project

Family History Research

There are many ways to research and find out about your family history.  One of the most convenient ways is to research in the local community, especially if your family has stayed in the particular locality for a long time.

Most people check the parish registers, as these contain biographical information such as baptisms, marriages and burials. Used in combination with probate records, you can often achieve spectacular results. Yet although there is often immense satisfaction to be gained from seeing how far back in time you can go, the end product is likely to be little more than a list of names on a family tree.
